The San Diego Science and Engineering Festival is back in action and better than ever! Events include two block parties, interactive classroom learning, a movie night, a recycled art competition, weekly podcasts, a group outing and much more!

Rio Logan Science and Art Exhibition

April 16, 2022, 10: 00-14: 00

Combining culture, science and art, today will include a combination of student competitions, art exhibitions, live exhibitions, practical STEAM stands and more! It is a family-friendly environment where curiosity and exploration intersect between creativity and culture.

Live Stage Event

Thursday, April 28, 2022
Navy Science Center 10: 00-14: 00

Live stage performances that include everything related to STEAM: rockets, reptiles, robotics and more! The lineup will be announced soon.

North County STEAM Block Party

May 1, 2022, 12: 00-15: 00, San Diego County Park
1628 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Del Mar, CA 92014

Join other industry partners and community organizations for scavenger hunts with a twist. Participants will receive park maps for scavenger hunts on the park’s nature trails, along with passport books to visit the booths to win prizes. Today will include a family-friendly band and BYOP (bring your own picnic) if you choose!

STEAM Movie Night

May 7, 2022, 5: 30-7: 30 p.m. The film begins at 7:30 p.m., Waterfront Park
1600 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92101

The theme of the evening will be “Building a Community with STEAM”. Before the film begins, participants will be able to engage in various booths, each with hands-on STEAM activities.

Challenge to live good trails

May 7, 2022 9:00 – Hiking with Ranger begins at 10:00, birding in the loop of the Nature Center in the San Elihu Lagoon.

Participants will go on adventures to some of San Diego’s most popular and picturesque parks, with the first being at the Nature Center Loop in San Elihu Lagoon.

This year the San Diego Science and Engineering Festival will fit classes at different grade levels with local STEAM industries to nurture STEAM excitement and provide resources that many classes can manage without.

Discussion of a scientific speed round for third graders to introduce them to a dozen STEAM professionals from various industries.

Students will have the opportunity to “stumble” the pros to win points for their class.

A weekly podcast of “Inspirational Women.”

March 8 to May 10 (everything is new this year!)

Chapters will deal with successful women in the fields of science, engineering and the arts. We will dive into their background and discover what influenced their career path.
